Hertz has 19,000 cars on their site including Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW and Mercedes. Here is an example; 2019 Certified BMW 530i, $32,890. Deal?

I think I would rather buy a German car with 10 owners than one that spent 10 months in a rental fleet.

That is about inline with how much the others are. But a little high, also these luxury cars will not be optioned very well tbh. No Adaptive cruise, cooled seats and other stuff.

What exactly does “Hertz Certified” mean?

Btw I checked RWD sedans- only the same 5 over and over again- 530i, 330i, CTS 3.6 and Charger/300s. Might have seen a Jaag or two

How well equipped is it? I’ve never rented a luxury car so I’m not sure whether they are like other manufacturers where they sell special decontented versions to rental fleets.

I love that a selling point is it being Hertz Certified. If this reorganization fails and they close that Hertz warranty paperwork  will make horrible toilet paper.

If you want something with sparse  options that may or may not have been maintained, why not?      Probably treated no worse than many leased cars.

I feel like this wouldn’t be that bad. It’s a 2019 so really the only thing that was neglected might be an oil change. Brakes would be fine, shocks, tires are easy. I would think if you are renting a BMW, you most likely aren’t going to take it to a track.

I’d stay the hell away from the Versa  Notes and Fiestas though. Those things get the shit kicked out of them.

On the left side of the page you have the zip code and miles radius. I picked 60601 *Chicago and 1000 miles.

I looked twice in the last t wo months and any deals that were there are now gone. All that’s left near me is a)stripped down crap tastic rental spec small and mid-size cars, or b) brand new (2019-2020) luxu ry SUVs and high end german cars going for full list price. Who wants to buy last year’s model with <2k rental miles for full list when you could go to the dealer and get a NEW one for the same price with better loan options? I say let them sit, they will be about ripe come Thanksgiving and either move them in bulk to auction or drop their prices to firesale levels.

Look at these two extremes:
